Be you - You are a Limited Edition

In February, I launched the first round of my “Be YOU - You are a limited Edition’ Experiences aimed at children between the ages of 3 and 17. These 10 minute photographic sessions took place in my Karratha based studio over one weekend.

The kids who participated were encouraged to choose their own outfit, with no parent interference. They were asked to choose an outfit that represented them, that they felt comfortable in and that expressed their individuallity.

They were also encouraged to bring along any props such as books, balls, objects and toys that showcased their hobbies, their passions and what helped them to feel secure.

My aim was to create an image that truly represents each child, to show them just how incredible they are.

During the ‘Be YOU - You are a Limited Edition’ weekend, I could not wipe the smile off my face. 56 children came through the studio doors. We had dancing, acrobatics, Spiderman posing, spinning and dancing, book reading and so so much more. The outfits were awesome to see and the smile on the kids’ faces were the absolute best. Some entered a little shy but very quickly loosen up and their wonderful inner light shone through.

Each child receives a 5x7 inch print and a custom designed affirmation card that they can frame and display in their rooms. The purpose, to remind themselves just how wonderful and perfect they are, just the way they are.

Kids of Karratha (and surrounds)… You ARE AMAZING!!!

Remember: We live in a society where we are often told to dull ourselves down. To downplay our achievements and made to ‘fit into boxes’

But you were not born to be anything other than yourself. You were born to shine. You were born to be exactly who you are and no one else. You are important. You are valued. You are amazing. You are unique and you are perfect, just the way you.

Embrace who you are. Embrace your dreams and your ambitions. Celebrate yourself and your achievements. You do not need to downplay just how incredible you are.

Do not dull your sparkle.
